Pan-Am Tour

Hello Friends, Family & World!

Jed and I will be leaving this March 2012 for our drive along the Pan-American highway.  We invite you all to join us along the way as we explore the countries of North, Central and South America and attempt to speak their language, learn their cultures, climb their mountains and surf their coasts (which should really be interesting as it is new to both of us)!

We will try to provide weekly updates accompanied by lots of pictures along the way!

About adventureamericas

Jed and I set out April 2012 to drive from Wyoming to the southern tip of Argentina! Join us along the way to read about our adventures as we attempt to surf the coasts, climb the mountains and speak the language of the 15 countries we plan to visit!

When you reach Panama, let us know. We live in Boquete, Chiriqui. New ferry service has been initiated from Colon, Panama to Cartagena, Colombia. Makes getting from Panama across the Darian Gap a lot easier.

Watch out for Mexico, we drove my F150 down in May-Jun 2010 and had an attempted hijack near Monterrey on the autopista. Being from Panama we quickly discouraged the fools by pointing a 6000# Ford missile at them for a near miss.

Watch for the “helpers” at the frontiers .. most of them are pretty dependable, but we found taking a picture of the “helper” before we started business, quickly stopped “monkey business”.

    • Thanks Craig! We will definitely get in touch with you when we reach Panama to get more info on the new ferry service. We are definitely being careful in Mexico and will be cautious about the “helpers” at the border crossings as we have heard other stories about them. So far in Baja we have encountered nothing but friendly, helpful, smiling faces!
